When tonnage is entered into the software it is calculated using a Price Rule Set to deduct the included tonnage and bill any tonnage overage appropriately. By default, tonnage is configured as an Item (Admin > Products > Items) for it to show in the customer's Shopping Cart and appear on all item reports.
Additional Info: The price rules are attached to items via a Schedule Profile under Admin > Products > Schedule Profiles.
Changing Tonnage Pricing
The tonnage price calculation is located under Admin > Rules > Price Rule Sets. Each dumpster usually has its own dedicated price rule because the included tonnage amount varies between sizes. Navigate to the Price Rule Sets and click the appropriate dumpster tonnage:
Edit the following fields to change the pricing/calculation, as needed:
- The "Qty Included" is the included tonnage.
- The "Overage Cost" is the tonnage overage price.
- The "Rounding Unit" decides where to round to the nearest ton.
Website Tonnage and Pricing Display
After making changes to the tonnage, you will want to update your website to reflect these changes. These fields are located on the item edit screen under Admin > Products > Items. Click on the appropriate dumpster size (i.e. "10 Yard Dumpster" in my example) and locate the following fields in the middle of the item's edit page:
