SEO Best Practices
The first step to running a successful SEO campaign is making sure your onsite SEO on point. Here we will give you a high-level overview of best practices to follow when building out webpages.
Headings
When it comes to headings, we are referring to the actual HTML tags like <h1>, <h2>, etc. It is best to structure your headings in a cascading waterfall fashion. This means you will have your main heading (<h1>) followed by a paragraph of text, then your next heading (<h2>) followed by another paragraph of text.
One key thing to remember is that each page should only have one <h1> tag, and your heading should have the main keyword that you are trying to rank that page for.
The URL
You will want the keyword that you are trying to rank for to be in the URL. If "dumpster rentals online" is the keyword you want to rank for, your URL should look like www.yourwebsite.com/dumpster-rentals-online/
Images
Always remember to add alt-text that contains your target keywords to your images. It is best to use one keyword per image in regards to alt-text.
