Dumpster Rental Systems has tracking (serial) number functionality to help you track and manage your inventory.
Deliveries / Serial Number Assignment
1. Access the DRS Driver Application from your mobile device. After logging in, navigate to the "View Load Sheet" area and choose an appropriate date at the top to see your assigned/routed orders. Also note the "Refresh" button in the top right. It is a good idea to refresh the App occasionally to reflect any route changes.
2. Once your route is open, you can tap the "Barcode Icon" as a shortcut to assign a serial number. Tapping the "Basket Icon" and Order ID will open the order.
3. Tapping the "Barcode Icon" will automatically navigate you to the second tab (the 4 boxes) when viewing the order. Tap the "Barcode Icon" on the screen below to assign a serial number.
4. After tapping the "Barcode Icon", a list of available serial numbers appears. Only free/available serial numbers will appear. If a serial number is assigned on another order, then it will not appear in the list for selection. Select the appropriate serial number and tap "Submit".
5. After a serial number is assigned, it will appear next to the "Barcode Icon" with a time and date stamp indicating the time of completion. Once assigned, a serial number can only be returned. If a mistake is made, you will need to return the current serial number before checking out a new one.
6. When returning to "View Load Sheet" the order box will be grayed out if a serial number is assigned. The route must be built and sent to the driver from the Control Panel ("Delivery" Tab) for this functionality to work. The same assignment is seen on the Control Panel's "Dispatch" Tab, although you may need to refresh the screen to see the latest updates.
Pickups / Serial Number Return
1. From "View Load Sheet", tap the "Barcode Icon" as a shortcut to the serial number assign/return screen.
2. You should see a serial number presently assigned on the order. Tapping the "Barcode Icon" again will give you a list of check-in statuses to select from.
3. After tapping the "Barcode Icon", you will see a list of available statuses. These are customizable (especially if you have multiple yards) but the default is shown below. Select "Yard Empty" if the dumpster has no refuse and is rentable. Select "Yard Full" if the dumpster is filled with refuse and cannot be rented, which may happen if the landfill is closed at the time of pickup.
4. After selecting a return status, the serial number will show as "Checked in" on the Driver App with a date and time stamp.
5. When returning to "View Load Sheet" the order box will be grayed out (on pickups) if a serial number is returned. The route must be built and sent to the driver from the Control Panel ("Delivery" Tab) for this functionality to work. The same return is seen on the Control Panel's "Dispatch" Tab, although you may need to refresh the screen to see the latest updates.
